本稿では、社会科学分野における学際的研究について触れつつ、そういった方向性は、多様な組織的・事業的側面をもつ各種協同組合に共通する「協同組合性」を考えるうえで参照すべきものが多いのではないかとの観点から、協同組合理解との関連を論じている。具体的には、進化生物学と政治経済学との学際的研究に基づいて、協同組合の原則が、向社会性のプラス面を実現しマイナス面を抑制する基礎組織のあり方という、より普遍性をもった形で理解されるようになっている動き、および、物理学・生物学との学際的な共有認識を有して、均衡に向かう力ではなく不確実性が常態である現実において生産を重視する新しいマクロ経済学の視点から、組織体・事業体としての協同組合のどのような特質が注目されるのか、という点について検討をしたものである。

This paper discusses the relevance of interdisciplinary research in the social sciences to understanding cooperatives, arguing that such approaches offer valuable insights for examining the “nature of cooperatives“ common to various types of cooperatives with diverse organizational and operational aspects.
Specifically, it highlights a trend, exemplified by interdisciplinary research between evolutionary biology and political economy, toward understanding cooperative principles in a more universal form—as the foundational organizational structure that realizes the positive aspects of prosociality while suppressing its negative aspects. It also examines the emergence of a new macroeconomic perspective, sharing interdisciplinary insights with physics and biology, and examines which characteristics of cooperatives as organizational and business entities are highlighted from the perspective of a new macroeconomics that emphasizes production in a reality where uncertainty is the norm, rather than forces tending toward equilibrium.
